Library News & Campus Events:
May 14 - 21, 2012
- The Library will be closed. Monday, May 21 for Victoria Day.
- Damage to Library Books. Please do not write, underline or highlight in library books. Writing in, underlining or highlighting library books is considered damaging the books and damage done to books will be charged to your account accordingly. For more info, please click here.
- U of C Library. To access University of Calgary books that have a location of “High Density Library”, please fill out this form and press “Send”. A hold will be placed on the item and an email will be sent when your item is available. The item will need to be picked up at the University of Calgary in the new building, TFDL. Alternatively, you can call 403-220-5963 to place a hold on “HDL” items. For more information on accessing the U of C Library (TFDL), please see here.
- Course Reserves. Due to copyright changes, we have a new Course Reserve policy. See here and click on the "Course Reserves" tab for details.
- St. Mary's Email. There is a link to access your St. Mary's email on the library home page. All library notices are sent to your email, so we encourage everyone to check their email regularly or to forward their STMU mail to another email address. Click on
 beside the STMU Webmail link in the yellow banner above for instructions on forwarding your email.
- The library is an academic workspace. Please lower your voice when in the library.
- Cell phones. In the library, please set your cell phones to silent or vibrate and answer your calls outside the library.
Library Access
- Information Technology Help Guide.
If you have problems accessing your StMU Webmail account or the MySTMU portal, then please consult StMU IT Help Documents:
- Look for the icon in the yellow banner at the top of any library webpage.
- The StMU HelpDesk website provides instructions on how to consult the HelpDesk online, about StMU email accounts, email forwarding, MySTMU (Self-Service) Portal, logging onto library computers, changing your password, accessing your "my documents" folder, printing, and logging off.
- Library Cards.
All students must have a valid student ID card to access library services! If you do not have one, please make an appointment at the main office of the Administration Building to get one. For information borrowing privileges please consult the Borrowing Library Materials policy.
- Library Catalogue.
- "My Account" PIN. If you want to access the "My Account" section of the catalogue, you will need to come to the library to set up a PIN first.
- iPhone Searching. The catalogue at St. Mary's University College Library, as well as libraries that are part of the SAIL, are now searchable on your iPhone. Click here and open the "Access via SmartPhone" tab for details.
- Off-campus Access to Electronic Resources.
The electronic resources are now set up so that off-campus access is available via your library card/student ID barcode.
- Printing in the Library.
Printing in the Library is 10¢ a page. All new students have a $1.00 balance to start. After that, you will need to pay for additional printing at the library.
