About Remote
/ Off-Campus Access to Electronic Resources
When accessed remotely from off-campus,
all of the Library's electronic resources require you to
authenticate.
How to Remotely Access electronic
Resources
- When you click on a electronic resources
link and new window or tab will open.
- You will be forwarded to a page that asks
you to enter the barcode number from your student ID card.
- This is the 12 digit number below the
barcode on your student ID card (or 300 plus your student
number). However, if you have not registered at the STMU
Library then your barcode will not be on the authentication
list.
- If you are prompted for an username or
password then something is wrong. Please contact the library
notify us about your problem.
You're
Still Being Denied Access?
There may be administrative or Technical
Reasons that you can't gain access to the Library's Electronic
Resources:
- Is there anything wrong with your student
registration?
- Check with the STMU administration
office.
- Did you register late at STMU? And did
you register at the Library?
- Our authentication
records are updated on a regular basis. However, if
you registered after the ADD/DROP registration deadline,
then you need to come to the STMU Library to be registered
in the library circulation system before your barcode
can be included in the authentication lists.
- You require
a STMU ID card in order to register. Once you have
registered it can take up to 2 weeks before you have
remote /off-campus access to the Library's electronic
resources.
